If you are moving in to a brand new home, chances are the basement is a big empty space where the kids can run around and make as much noise as they want without ruining the furniture and appliances upstairs. It is every man’s dream to have a basement that he can call his sanctuary when he needs some quiet time and needs to relax. A finished basement will always be a point of interest for new buyers, so if your basement is not done, finish it before you decide to move again, you will make more money on your sale.

2. Gardening

Gardening has many benefits, it makes your house look better from the outside, could provide you with food if you plant vegetables, and it gives you a new hobby. If your garden is well kept, it definitely makes it easier to resale your home to another person who enjoys gardening.

3. Add A washroom

The washroom is always the busiest place in the house in the morning, especially if the ratio is one washroom to four bedrooms. An extra washroom is always attractive for home buyers because they won’t have to share the washroom in four minute time blocks in the morning on the way to work or school.

The front door is the gateway in to your home, and it is something your going to use everyday at least twice a day if you leave your house, so your door should be some what attractive. The front door is also the center of attention when the home is photographed to show potential buyers.

5. Renovate the Kitchen

Most families would agree a lot of time is spent inside of the kitchen, so it is important to make it look good. Over the years, the kitchen has become a multi-purpose room within the house, for eating, homework, and oh yea, cooking. You want to stay up to date with the appliances in your kitchen, and you want to make sure the price point of your kitchen matches the price point of your house. A nice spacey kitchen is an easy way to increase your property value.
