Living in Calgary
Calgary is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada, and has been a great destination for new families. The fast growing economy and stable real estate market has made it an attractive destination for people to move to. For those of you who have decided to move to Calgary, here is a list of 5 Cool Things To Do Once You Move to Calgary, all which will make for great fun with the family.
The Calgary Stampede
What fun is living in Calgary if you do not go to the Calgary Stampede?! Every July, Calgary becomes the go to city for Western Canada as they host one the greatest rodeo shows in North America. The ten day event also is one of Canada’s largest music festivals, so grab your boots and grab your cowboy hat and head on over.
Visit Olympic Park
In 1988, Calgary had the privilege of hosting the Winter Olympics. The buildings that had the opportunity to host some of the worlds greatest athletes is now a great place to bring your family for the day. Olympic Park is now open all year around, you can run through a bobsleigh course (with a professional), ride North America’s fastest zip line, or play an 18-hole-game of mini golf.
Calgary Zoo
Who doesn’t love the zoo?! This is a great activity for the whole family!. The Calgary Zoo hosts over 1000 animals and was one of the most visited zoos in Canada in 2013. In 2014 they will be adding a few new animals, such as komodo dragons, mandrills, and the one-horned rhinoceros. This is definitely a must of the places to see once you move to Calgary.
Watch the Calgary Stampeders
The Calgary Stampeders are one of the major sports teams in the city, and have seen a lot of success during their tenure in Canadian Football League. The fans are loud and the team wins – not much more you can ask for from a football organization. Be sure to check out a game at McMahon Stadium against cross town rivals the Edmonton Eskimos.
Calaway Park
Take a trip with your family to one of Canada’s largest outdoor amusement parks and have a fun-filled day. Enjoy a wonderful day with your family at Calaway park which includes over 30 rides, games, stage shows, and much more. This is a must-do after moving to Calgary.
