Thinking About Moving Across the Country?
Long distance moving from Vancouver to Toronto can be challenging. These two cities are two of the most common cities people move to and from due to the job market. What makes this long distance relocation challenging is selecting a qualified mover that will move you on budget, on time, and deliver your goods safely.
So where do you start?
- We recommend you start with the Better Business Bureau. Contact the local Vancouver Better Business Bureau (BBB) and get a report on each long distance mover you’re interested in getting a moving estimate from. You should get at least three estimates, and don’t make your selection on price. A cheap mover, usually means cheap service and quality. Check the BBB report on all three movers, you should be looking for a high rating of at least an “A”. You can search your local Vancouver movers at:
- Check all three long distance moving companies out at the Canadian Association of Movers at:
and make sure they are a CAM member in good standing. There are many unscrupulous and rogue movers in Canada that are simply in the business to scam you. CAM will help you identify these movers and steer you clear of these bandit movers.
- Movers Insurance – It’s incredible how many long distance moving companies operate with inadequate insurance coverage. This means they are hauling your furniture long distance without proper coverage. If they get in an accident or damage your furniture don’t expect to get compensated; in most cases you’ll be out of luck on any furniture damage caused by the mover.
