I would like to give a very positive review of Codie, who moved goods from cottage country north of Toronto to my residence in Winnipeg. He was friendly, helpful, did the job of moving things in with care for the goods and the house, for example, avoidance of the oak banister going into the basement. He put goods down in a logical, spaced way. He had been able to remove the screws holding a heavy pine table top and legs together, and did a good job of allowing me to take photos of the parts, and then the assembly together. He wisely recommended not re-screwing the parts for the time being. He helped a great deal in checking off items on a list. What it takes to be a professional is competence, doing the job properly and well, giving that primary consideration, and displaying personal suitability (honesty, integrity, decency). He meets all criteria. Should it come time for a move from my current home, I would give Great Canadian Van Lines top consideration, and likewise, Codie were he available.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review, I called Great Canadian Van Lines in a panic because another company just flaked on me, from the moment I called them the care that the team showed was astounding, they were patient and understanding despite how stressed I must have sounded, I certainly felt it. I was in good hands from the get go, and they worked with me to make sure my stuff was taken care of. So I want to thank Kathy and the dispatch team, first and foremost.

As for the actual move, Ron was amazing, I can’t thank him enough, my stuff arrived perfectly, a day early in fact. Kept in contact with me to make sure that things would run smoothly, and my stuff was placed in my apartment, they even helped me set up my television when they really didn’t have to.

If I could give you guys more stars I would, and I don’t generally write reviews, but you guys were simply amazing and if I have to move across the country again, you will be my first and only call. Thank you once again, you guys were absolutely amazing.

After living in the same big home in SW Ontario for 40 years, I made the decision to move closer to family on Vancouver island. It was a daunting thought.

I was so overwhelmed and confused with which company to choose for my cross Canada move. However, Great Canadian Van Lines had great reviews on every platform I use/checked so I emailed them for a quote. From the moment I first connected with them to the moment I had my furniture delivered I received the best experience I could have asked for. Kathy was my first point of contact and just from our conversations I felt that their company was honest and was better than the other companies I had received quotes from. Then after that my move was completed by Amar and Harsh Sidhu. They picked up my furniture, transported it and delivered it to my new apartment. This Moving Company did a fantastic job!! It was a slightly complicated move in that one home from Winnipeg was distributed to two homes in Edmonton and one home in West Vancouver. All items were packed expertly including dozens of valuable paintings and fragile art work. All the items arrived at the proper place with no breakage or missing items. I had a great experience with Great Canadian Van Lines that constantly kept me up to date with my inventory and moving long distance from Alberta to New Brunswick my stuff was secure and the team did an amazing job of moving it in. (I did pay slightly more then what was quoted but I was aware that once weighed / placed on the truck it might add to the price – however my bill did not double or triple as some people had warned me) this company is fair and honest!!

I was very fortunate to be assigned Amar and his son to facilitate my move from Alberta to Quebec. Amar was great at communicating, organizing the truck, being calm and efficient.

Everything was done at a steady pace. He loaded my belongings on the 31st and arrived in Montréal the 12th. He even assessed the route and location ahead of time to insure his semi could fit. Due to the area we had to get shuttle vehicle to be able to park and unload – but again, Amar was so organized we were prepared.

You can tell Amar has many years of experience! He thinks ahead, and really puts a lot of thought into the process to insure it goes smoothly. I have moved with other movers and nothing compares to Amar – I would highly recommend!

The great Canadian van lines team were also helpful and quick to reply to any questions or concerns.

My husband and I were looking for a reliable and reasonably priced moving company to move from British Columbia to Ontario. We started our research back in March. After making multiple calls and reading through multiple reviews we found that many moving companies were dishonest in their pricing and lacked transparency. We were pretty worried that we wouldn’t find an honest moving company. When we came across Great Canadian Van Lines and spoke to Kathy Dorland we immediately knew we wanted to move forward with GCVL. Not only were the reviews positive, but also Kathy was just amazing from the start. We were worried about the lack of transparency and dishonesty, but Kathy answered all of our questions and really reassured us that it wouldn’t happen as the movers/contractors would face serious consequences. Kathy even offered for us to be there before and after weighing the truck so ease any worries we had about that. We were truly happy with the multiple conversations with Kathy that we booked with her for the end of June.

Fast forward to June, we contacted Kathy about meeting with the driver to weigh the truck. Kathy, again, was just amazing. She truly went above and beyond to ensure that the driver (Codie) was aware of the arrangement – she even gave us a number we could contact over the weekend if there were any issues to ensure that our Monday move was smooth.

On moving day, we were contacted by Codie and received updates as to when he would be arriving and where my husband should meet him. Moving everything into the truck went SO smoothly. There was so much care that Codie and the team put into wrapping our items and tagging them. Codie was thorough in creating a proper itemized list. Codie and his team were so genuine and personable! Moving everything into the truck took about an hour to an hour and a half.

It took about two weeks to receive our items. When we received the items, it was done in a systematic way. When items were brought in, I checked off the item number on the itemized list Codie created. When all the items were checked off, Codie checked the truck just to make sure that all of our belongs were out of the truck. He even ensured us that if things were left in the truck, he would bring it back to us. Adam (one of the movers) and Codie were just amazing – so personable and kind.

The price was also very reasonable. It was not the most expensive and it was not the cheapest. It was truly just reasonable. The total cost was less than 6 grand and we had nearly 3,000 lbs of things. It was worth every penny to have ease of mind during such a stressful time.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better team and move – Kathy Dorland, Codie, Adam, Chris, and one other contractor were amazing. I highly recommend Great Canadian Van Lines.

Starting with iris it was an awesome moving experience, going from BC to Ontario as an 86 year old was very stressful but the moving company great Canadian Van lines / purely Canadian movers, I would highly recommend Ron ( driver ) to be the person to pack and deliver door to door, Ron and his crew were polite and respectful, with communication on the travels. They delivered what was promised, they had no need of a shuttle so Ron called his company and a refund was given the same day ( wow ) great customer service. I was very nervous about booking anyone to make that move for me with all the scams that were out there. But a 5 minute talk with Iris put me at ease, she even came to my house and packed my china for me on her own dime, can’t thank her enough. The driver Amar N and his Helper worked extremely Hard. They worked on another move in the morning and arrived at my home at 3:00 in the afternoon, They worked without stopping until 11:00 that night,,,,,, When I got up at 6:00 a.m. they were already packing ….. She explained the process, what to expect, and any additional costs. During the move, the distribution team, responsible for pick up and delivery, also provided great service. This cross-country move went so smoothly and quickly thanks to the hard work of Harry and his team. Courteous, efficient and very organized. My belongings arrived at the destination in great condition. It was not an easy move, with three flights of steep stairs but they were kind and careful the whole time. Last week we moved from Vancouver to Lethbridge Alberta. After researching and contacting alot of movers, we chose Great Canadian Van Lines. Kathy, the relocation consultant has a very polite, not pushy, helpful and reassuring person. We never met, but I know she make sure that the transaction was smooth. They may not be the cheapest rate, but the quality of work showed. Every phone call was great because Cathy answered the questions right away or she will find out immediately. She made herself available for us any time.
In regards to the moving crew, Amar Sidhu’s team was great. They are respectful, move quickly but very careful on taking out our belongings from storage to their truck. Also the way they wrapped our items to assure that there no damage was amazing. Days before they delivered, they called me to give the estimate arrival. They were on earlier time than expected, which was a bonus. While moving, they treated our new home as their own too.

I moved from Ottawa, Ontario to Beresford, New Brunswick. I had the pleasure of dealing with Daniel Lapierre (he’s from Rivière du Loup, Qc), long distance moving truck driver and mover who works for Great Canadian Van Lines Ltd. Daniel went above and beyond making sure that my belongings were well packed and loaded onto the truck. When he delivered my items to my new address in New Brunswick, he unloaded the entire truck himself because the local movers he’d hired to help him didn’t want to work during a heat wave. 

Daniel arrived right on time with his big smile and his beautiful mood. In just a few seconds, he was able to put us completely at ease. He explained everything to us in detail, reinforced the protection of fragile items with covers and with care and no time, our belongings were in the truck ready to cross the country, from British Columbia to New Brunswick. At this point, we knew that the weeks looking for a trustable moving company, were totally worth it. And our stress to leave our lifetime belongings for someone to look after, totally gone. From the moment I first called Great Canadian VLL for a quote, through to the move of my belongings, the service has been exemplary. My goods are going long haul into storage for a while and I have no doubt at all that both my goods and I will receive the same exceptional care until the moment they are in my new home. We moved from the Montreal area to Vancouver Island with GCVL two years ago and the process surpassed anything that we could have wished for. Time passed, we were due to return to Quebec so we elected once again to contact Sara at GCVL. Glad I chose Great Canadian Van Lines Ltd. to move me from Victoria, BC to Barrie, Ontario. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ron and his crew were the best. They took great care in protecting my items. They made amazing time across Canada and delivered all my items as promised, actually sooner than I expected. Just be aware that you will probably have to pay for a shuttle if moving from or into a townhouse or apartment. Their Vans are 76 feet long and cannot get into most areas. Would highly recommend this. company.

GCVL made my move as smooth and stress-free as possible. Everything about the process was super professional, including Eddie, my mover who loaded and unloaded everything at both ends. I felt really good knowing that my move was in his hands, and my things arrived so quickly and in great condition. There was an issue with my bill but they were super quick and professional about fixing it.
